She told me who I was
And I said I didn't know what she wanted
And all she wanted from me was to be alright.
Alright?
She said:
Could you tell me that I'm safe again?
Could you love me like you used to?
Could you walk on water with me
And hold me to the moon when we kiss
On those waves, and tell me that I
Can fly and be alright, alright?
She took my hand and then,
She led me to her lands where the green grass grows
And we laid there among the star shine of the dew.
She turned:
She said:
Could you tell me who I think I am?
Could you feel me like you used to?
Could you fly with me
Above the ground
So high up there
With stars around
And tell me that I am loved?
Tell me that I'm wonderful.
Don't ever let me go,
Please just don't let go.
I told her then, without speaking, without sound,
That I'd forever be her friend, forever above the ground
And as I held her and she smiled, I knew it was going to end.
I said:
I'll tell you what you want to hear.
I'll take away everything you fear.
Just sleep away those long lost nights
And give to me all your frights.
Give up the world you used to know.
And fly with me down below.
I'll give your soul sweet caress
Doing what it is I do best.
Just sleep and don't you cry
You're victim of the Incubi.

Comments
Good poem though. I like the flow. :]
She's actually playing the part of the mournful lover, the incubus is portraying the man she lost.
These things are like plays that happen in my head.
